Well He's No Hillary

McCain will be hosting an Exchange of Ideas Forum on Thursday March 8th. For those who cannot attend, this event will also be available live via webcast. A concept that has been very successful for Hillary Clinton. Unlike Hillary the McCain webcast will come at a price, $100 for an E-Ticket that will allow you to log in and attend virtually.

I have mixed feelings about this strategy. First I have to assume that the only reason to do a webcast is to attract the younger tech savvy crowd. A demographics that is used to downloading movies, music and tv shows for free. I count myself among that same candidate and I would never pay $100 to watch some webcast that I know will most likely appear a few days later on YouTube. Someone unsure about McCain is definetly not going to pay $100 to watch the webcast.

My advice to the campaign would be to hold a free Webcast invite everyone to come and listen to McCain speak and end the night with an invitation to donate $100 to the campaign. I guess well see how it goes.

The fifth video is of Edwards discussing some of the issues with people who stayed behind after the rest of the crowd had left. Unfortunately, the fifth video is very hard to hear.

In this video released by the Edwards campaign, Edwards discusses energy, conservation, and global warming with New Hampshire voters.

Edwards: "We should invest in clean alternative sources of energy in a serious long-term comprehensive way, which means wind, solar, biofuels, bio-diesel."

Ealier today, Barack Obama visited Selma, Alabama to take part in the Selma Voting Rights March Commemoration.

Hillary was in Selma, AL today to commemorate "Bloody Sunday", an historic moment in the civil rights movement.

"On March 7, 1965, the day that came to be known as Bloody Sunday, some 600 men, women and children. crossed the bridge in Selma Ala., with the intention of marching to Montgomery for voting rights. On the other side, they were confronted by state troopers and a sheriff's posse, who beat the marchers back, hastening congressional enactment of the Voting Rights Act and the demise of the racial order the lawmen sought to defend." The ceremony re-enacting the crossing of the Edmund Pettus is an annual event to remember the struggle and to honor those who took part in the fight for civil rights. Hillary was accompanied by President Clinton, who is being inducted into the Voting Rights Hall of Fame. Before joining in a re-enactment of the march, Hillary attended services at the First Baptist Church of Selma, where she spoke to the congregation to commemorate the event's 42nd anniversary:

"I come to share the memories of a troubled past and a hope for a better tomorrow, one that is worthy of the sacrifices that were made here... That long march to freedom that started here has carried us a mighty long way. But we all know we have to finish the march."

Great to see the campaign utilizing YouTube but the videos have less then 10 views each. Now they just need to figure out a way to distribute the videos to their supporters(newsletter, myspace, facebook etc).
